The Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra makes its debut in India with Nicolas Altstaedt as director and cello soloist with an energetic programme of Tchaikovsky, Haydn and Veress.

The Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra (VFCO) forms the core ensemble of the Tongyeong Festival Orchestra, bringing its exceptional artistry and precision to the large symphonic programmes of the Tongyeong Festival.

The VFCO residency at the Festival de Pâques begins with a special Easter Sunday strings concert at the Cathédrale Saint-Sauveur conducted by Gábor Takács-Nagy.

Cellist Julia Hagen makes her first appearance with the VFCO performing Elgar’s iconic cello concerto. The concert opens and closes with trademark Gábor/VFCO Beethoven performances of the Coriolan Overture and Seventh Symphony.

The Verbier Festival’s 2025 Stanford residency marks the highly anticipated return of the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra to the West Coast. Under the baton of Gábor Takács-Nagy, Music Director of the VFCO, this concert will serve as the grand finale of Stanford Live’s celebration of Mahler and the Second Viennese School. Alongside this special performance, the residency will feature masterclasses, open rehearsals, and workshops with students.
