The final opera of the Da Ponte trilogy, Così fan tutte, will be conducted this summer by Gábor Takács-Nagy, following the immense success of The Marriage of Figaro in 2024 and Don Giovanni in 2022. Alongside the Music Director of the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, a dream cast: Johanna and Rebecka Wallroth, sisters in real life as well as in the opera, baritone Konstantin Krimmel (Opus Klassik’s Singer of the Year), and the inimitable Bryn Terfel as Don Alfonso, returning to Verbier after his triumph in Gianni Schicchi last year. It couldn’t be a more spectacular lineup to launch the 20th-anniversary celebrations of the VFCO!

Chef-d’œuvre du théâtre dans le théâtre, Così fan Tutte marque la dernière collaboration entre Mozart et Da Ponte, son librettiste fétiche. On ne compte plus les versions de ce classique où les personnages sont tantôt acteurs, victimes ou spectateurs de ce jeu de dupes, aussi cruel qu’il semble badin.

Dix ans après son fameux Falstaff d’anthologie, Bryn Terfel retrouve la scène pour un autre de ses rôles favoris. Il sera accompagné notamment de Johanna Wallroth (Fiordiligi), sensation de l’art lyrique suédois, lauréate de la prestigieuse bourse Birgit Nilsson, qui mène une carrière sans faute ponctuée d’apparitions remarquées au château de Schönbrunn avec le Wiener Staatsoper, ou en tournée avec Daniel Harding. A ses côtés, comme dans le livret de Da Ponte, sa sœur dans la vraie vie Rebecka Wallroth (Dorabella), Anna El-Khashem (Despina), Giovanni Sala (Ferrando) et Konstantin Krimmel en Guglielmo, récemment sacré meilleur chanteur au prestigieux Opus Klassik. Un grand moment d’opéra placé sous la direction contagieuse du mozartien Gábor Takács-Nagy !
